Built from shared experience

REFINED IN THE FIELD

From exposed alpine camps to rain-soaked canoe routes, the Horizon Lite 2 Pro was refined through real-world use across challenging terrain and rapidly changing weather. Feedback from the original Horizon Lite 2, combined with continued testing by mountaineers, paddlers, outdoor guides, rangers, and experienced backcountry users, informed improvements in structural stability, ventilation, weather protection, livability, and field usability.

Feature image

The Horizon Lite 2 Pro uses DACFeatherLite™ NFL poles. The pole system works together with fly tension, stake placement, and guyline layout to support the tent structure.

Feature image

15D high-tenacity Ripstop nylon with ≥2500mm PFAS-freeSil/PUcoating,approximately 45.3% higher tensile strength.Approximately 85% higher tear strength.

Feature image

The 15D Ripstop breathable fabric in the Horizon Lite 2 Pro uses a PFAS-free DWR treatment. The breathable fabric allows air and water vapor to move, helping reduce a damp interior feel, while the DWR treatment helps reduce water attachment on the fabric surface.

FAQs

The packed weight is 1.42 kg (3.13 lb), and the minimum weight is 1.33 kg (2.93 lb). Packed weight includes the tent and all included accessories, while minimum weight includes only the fly, inner tent, and poles.

When properly pitched and fully secured with the guylines, the tent remained structurally stable at wind speeds of up to 27.8 m/s (approximately 100 km/h / 62 mph). This indicates that, under ideal conditions, the tent is capable of withstanding Force 10 winds (Storm) on the Beaufort scale.

Actual performance in the outdoors may vary depending on factors such as wind direction, gusts, terrain, pitching quality, and how securely the stakes and guylines are anchored. The Horizon Lite 2 Pro is designed to handle strong winds in most conditions, except in extreme weather environments.

Yes. The Horizon Lite 2 Pro is designed as a 2-person backpacking tent. Its inner dimensions are approximately 211× 135/112 cm, giving two hikers usable sleeping space while keeping the tent light and packable.

Yes. Its Y-cross structure stands without trekking poles, and the tent is designed to be pitched by one person. Freestanding does not mean stakes are optional in exposed weather: secure the tent, stake both vestibules, and tension the appropriate guylines whenever wind or rain is expected. Follow the setup manual for the intended pole and guyline sequence.

Condensation can occur in any tent when warm, moist air meets a colder surface; it does not automatically indicate a leak. When conditions allow, increase ventilation, keep wet gear in the vestibules, maintain proper fly tension, and choose a campsite with airflow away from

The package includes the tent fly, Inner tent, pole set, eight stakes, four guylines, a stuff sack, a repair kit, and a user manual.

A 2500 mm hydrostatic head rating means the fabric can withstand the pressure of a 2.5-meter column of water before leaking. In real use, waterproof performance also depends on seams, fly tension, drainage, and overall tent design.

The Horizon Lite 2 Pro remained dry during a 7.5-hour full-tent rain test, demonstrating reliable protection for sustained rain in typical backpacking and camping conditions.

Horizon Lite 2 Pro uses high-strength ripstop nylon, striking a balance between durability and lightweight performance. It is designed to handle most camping conditions, but contact with sharp objects and rough or abrasive ground should still be avoided. When pitching on such surfaces, clear the campsite of sharp debris beforehand, and we recommend using a footprint for added protection.

The Pro is designed for backpackers who value a larger weather margin and tougher materials over the lowest possible weight. Compared with the Horizon Lite 2, it uses 15D high-tenacity fabric and offers higher water resistance and better wind-lab results. Meanwhile, it remains a three-season shelter; it is not designed for winter storms, heavy snow loading, or expedition use.

The two-door, two-vestibule layout makes the tent easier to use for two people. Each person gets their own entry and gear storage area, which helps reduce climbing over each other and keeps packs, shoes, and wet gear outside the sleeping area.

The Horizon Lite 2 Pro is best for 3-season backpacking, alpine hiking, bikepacking, weekend camping, and lightweight trips where you want a freestanding tent, quick setup, two-person livability, and compact packed size.

Yes. Because it is freestanding, easy to pitch alone, and does not require trekking poles, the Horizon Lite 2 Pro is beginner-friendly while still offering premium features like DAC poles, two vestibules, PFAS-free coating, and a lightweight packed weight.

For many beginners, a freestanding tent is easier because the structure is more intuitive and less dependent on perfect stake placement or trekking pole height. Trekking pole tents can be lighter, but the Horizon Lite 2 Pro offers easier setup and more stable freestanding usability.

Yes. With a compact packed size of 16.9 × 5.7 in and a 3.13 lb packed weight, the Horizon Lite 2 Pro is suitable for bikepacking, especially when you want a freestanding tent that does not depend on trekking poles.
